I am going to try to explain the Trinity of God as best as I have come to learn it myself. For many years I wasn’t as sure as I am now. For the spirit of God answered my question in the most simplest way.
Very simply put, God the Father is the Will, Jesus is the spoken Will of the Father, and the Spirit is the one who sanctifies His Will! God is One, yet three different offices, three different positions working in complete harmony as One Holy God!
To go deeper still, God is the Father, the head of all things, we read “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other, I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, “My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” Isaiah 46:9-10
What He makes known the end from the beginning is His purpose and His Will. “His Word goes out from His mouth, it will not return empty, but will accomplish what He has desire and achieve the purpose for which He sends it.” Isaiah 55:11
Thus, Jesus (second of the Godhead) is now sent forth, He is The Word of God that was made flesh, in Him God’s word is Glorified. His Word will Not return empty without accomplishing what He has desired, for He has a purpose for which He, the Father sends the Son, The Word! In this order The Father, the Son, and the Spirit works in complete harmony in the creation of all things! This is why Jesus is the Alpha and the omega the beginning and the end because all things start and end with God’s Word!
Now hear this, Yashua (Jesus) is the creator of all things, Jesus is Torah, Jesus is the Word of God, Jesus is the Son of God that was brought forth! What does John 1:1 say… ” In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God!” In verse three it says, “Through Him all things were made, without Him nothing was made that has been made.” Now read verse 14 and it says, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” Who became flesh? Answer, (GOD’S WORD!) Jesus is the very Word of God Himself. This is why Jesus can say my Father and I are ONE! This is why He is worthy of All honor and Glory and this is why He is made King of king and Lord of lord! He knew the Law because He was the law in the flesh, He knows all things because He made all things. In His humanity He had limits and had to learn obedience to the point of death on the cross. Philippians 2:6-8 Yet He was not limited in all wisdom and power because the Spirit of God was upon Him in every way! This brings me to the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit!
In Proverbs 8:22-31 we read about Wisdom!
“The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way,
Before His works of old.
I have been established from everlasting,
From the beginning, before there was ever an earth.
When there were no depths I was brought forth,
When there were no fountains abounding with water.
Before the mountains were settled,
Before the hills, I was brought forth;
While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields,
Or the primal dust (man)of the world.
When He prepared the heavens, I was there,
When He drew a circle on the face of the deep,
When He established the clouds above,
When He strengthened the fountains of the deep,
When He assigned to the sea its limit,
So that the waters would not transgress His command,
When He marked out the foundations of the earth,
Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman;
And I was daily His delight,
Rejoicing always before Him,
Rejoicing in His inhabited world,
And my delight was with the sons of men.
Here we read a beautiful text of wisdom taking part in creation! As Jesus (Yashua) was with the Father, so is Wisdom. As Jesus took part in God’s Glory, so did wisdom! As Jesus was brought forth so was wisdom! The knowledge of the Glory of God is His wisdom! The Glory of the Lord is the invisible qualities, character or attributes of God displayed in a visible or knowable way. In Psalms 19:1 it says, “the heavens tell of the glory of God and their expansion is declaring the work of His hands.” So the presence and brilliance of God was displayed throughout the heavens.
His Glory is His eternal presence whom the Holy Spirit makes known through
1.Wisdom
2.Understanding
3.Counsel
4.Might
5.Knowledge
6.Fear of the Lord
7.This is the Spirit of the Lord that rests upon Jesus and all of us who were called before the foundations of the world! This is the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the living God who makes known to all man, the knowledge of the glory of God on the earth.
“For who knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.”
1 Corinthians 2:11
Paul wrote that “He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.” Romans 8:27
In this we understand that the Holy Spirit intercedes for you and I in accordance with God’s will for our life. How wonderful is that? We can all know Christ in an intimate and personal relationship with Him. In John 15:26 it says: “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness about me.” The Spirit testifies of Christ, because of what He did on the cross, He made a way that we can understand the heart of the Father. This is why it is so important to ask for the Spirit of God to move in our life, for His job is to remind us of what Christ did! So again all three parties of the Godhead have part in this new creation in you and I. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold, the new has come.”
2 Cor.5:17
I hope I brought some light into this very controversial subject and I know there are many who will say that the trinity is not in the bible and its just a man made doctrine. But I often thought of this, I wish others could really know my heart and sometimes really look deep into my thoughts and intentions. As I am also a trinity of flesh, spirit and a conscious. I often wish this life would provide a way that there would be no mistakes or misunderstandings; as the word says “who can know a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.” 1 Cor. 2:11 You see God is God, and with Him All things are possible, He made a way for us to know Him! As God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit continues to complete a good work in all of us, it would seem impossible to grasp this trinity of God as human vessels but as we seek His wisdom and insight I believe we can come to understand the mystery of His will, the purpose to unite all things in heaven and on earth to the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 1:7-10
